\"\"<\/a>D – 69124 <\/span>Heidelberg: <\/strong>Under the motto Knowledge creates the city<\/i> the IBA Heidelberg will take place from 2012 to 2022. One of the key projects of the IBA and its largest urban development project of international significance is the Patrick Henry Village (PHV)<\/strong> where once 8,000 Americans lived. An urban development vision is currently being developed for the conversion project, which covers an area of 92.7 ha, under the leadership of urban planner Kees Christiaanse (KCAP<\/a>) from Zurich. The preliminary city-wide plans envisage apartments for around 10,000 residents (approx. 4,200 residential units), as well as buildings with space for approx. 5,000 workplaces. Completion: ~2030

\nFurther involved in the planning are: Winy Maas (MVRDV<\/a>) from Rotterdam, Carlo Ratti (Carlo Ratti Associati<\/a>) from Turin, Markus Neppl (ASTOC<\/a>) from Cologne, Herbert Dreiseitl (Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl<\/a>) from \u00dcberlingen and Katrin Bohn (University of Brighton<\/a>) from London. The IBA was thus able to win over both young and established, local and international urban planning offices for the preparation of a development vision for the conversion area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Henry Village receives highest funding in urban development programme<\/a><\/h3> \n<\/span>

\"\"<\/a>Heidelberg is receiving massive funding from the 2021 urban development programme for two construction projects on conversion sites. The development of Patrick-Henry-Village (PHV) into a new city district has even received the highest funding amount in the entire programme. Heidelberg will receive 3.5 million euros for this project. In addition, the conversion of the sports hall on the former US hospital in Rohrbach will be funded with 400,000 euros. This was announced by the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Ministry of Economics on Wednesday, February 3.<\/p>\n\n
