"Ufa- Factory" Berlin

logo-ufa-factory-berlin12105 Berlin-Tempelhof: the hippie commune is today an internationally recognized ecological cultural oasis and a major employer in the district. It has existed since 1979 on 18,566 m2 as a self-managed cultural project.

Total area: 18,500 ha
Usable area: 7 buildings with approx. 10,000 sqm
Living space: 2,000 sqm; living space for approx. 35 people (=> approx. 12 WEs)
Office, club and commercial space: 5,000 sqm
Event space: 3,000 sqm

In addition to the 35 communards, another 220 people work on the grounds in the areas of the International Cultural Center, Neighborhood and Self-Help Center, Guest House, Farm, Café Olé, Free School, Bakery and Organic Shop. The ecology section presents solar systems, green roofs, rainwater management, plant filters, air conditioning with plants, urban gardening, and composting with a rotary drum and worm composter.
