Education building <\/span>for building biology and ecological building in the ecological industrial park Hamm
\n<\/b>As part of the North Rhine-Westphalian model project \"Ecological City of the Future\", an ecological business park has been created in Hamm in the immediate vicinity of the NRW Eco-Centre on the site of the former Sachsen colliery, in which preference is given to companies, including an ecological DIY store, which are active in the field of ecological construction. The companies have to meet minimum ecological standards in development and construction and are thus a role model for other commercial enterprises.<\/p>\n

- Addition of seminar rooms and a workshop to the existing facilities of the eco-centre

\nConcept<\/strong>
\n- Ground plan with heat zones according to criteria of passive solar energy use
\n- Building zones connected by a winter garden (thermal gap)
\n- Direct solar gains via windows
\n- External sun protection and vegetation roof to prevent overheating in summer
\n- Gravity ventilation system to cool down the building at night via natural ventilation
\n- Ventilation system with heat recovery<\/p>\n

As of 2017: the buildings are no longer used today as they were originally.<\/p>\n
