\"Eden-Logo\"16515 Oranienburg:<\/strong> The Edensiedlung was founded in 1893 as \"Vegetarische Obstbaukolonie Eden e.G.m.b.H.\". The 18 founding members aspired to \"a cooperative settlement on a soil-reform basis, exclusively for vegetarians\". In 1901, the statutes were amended and since then anyone who \"adopts a healthy lifestyle\" can become a member of the cooperative. The Eden Garden Settlement developed a multi-layered horticulture. There is to this day a policy \"Ecological horticulture\" <\/a>and specifications for the \"Ecological building and settlement\".<\/a>. Completion: 1914

After the time of the GDR and the political change there were many efforts to revive the original Eden goals of the \"Soil, Economic and Life Reform\" in a contemporary way. Most of the working groups formed between 1992 and 1995 are still active today.<\/p>\n

1895 <\/strong>The Oranienburger Bau- und Kreditgesellschaft mbH is founded. Until 1914, about 90 small and larger single-family houses are built.<\/p>\n

1900: <\/strong>The small Eden estate enters the 20th century with 15,000 fruit trees, 50,000 berry bushes, 3,000 hazelnut bushes, 200,000 strawberry plants and 20,000 rhubarb bushes.<\/p>\n

1911 - 1916: The German-Argentine merchant and social reformer Silvio Gesell lives as a member of the cooperative in Eden. In the \"Natural Economic Order through Free Land and Free Money\" he sees the foundations for a unified alternative to the unstable and peaceless systems of capitalism and communism. After stays in Switzerland, Munich and Argentina, he moved once again to the cooperative settlement in 1927 and died here in 1930.<\/p>\n

1962: <\/strong>Foundation of the EDEN-FOUNDATION in Bad Soden\/Taunus.<\/p>\n

2000: <\/strong>Eden NaturBau GmbH and Eden Siedlung-Verwaltungs GmbH are founded. In autumn, the ecological houses of the senior citizens' residential garden are ready for occupancy and mostly rented out.<\/p>\n

2001: <\/strong>Laying of the foundation stone for the new Kindergarten<\/a> in ecological loam construction. Design by Professor Gernot Minke<\/a>. Construction management: Eden NaturBau GmbH.<\/p>\n
