For 300.000,- Euro a youth house was to be built in Stuttgart Stammheim as a prefabricated shoe box in wooden panel construction. The Stuttgart Youth House Association asked Peter H\u00fcbner whether it would not be possible to build a larger youth house in self-help for the same money. Already at the first meeting with young people and social workers the idea of a \"Stammheim for Stammheim\" with a Celtic tomb, Indian hogan, cloud cuckoo's home, dinosaur caf\u00e9 was born and soon the object could be tackled with the help of architecture students, unemployed young people, youth house employees and members under the active guidance of Heinz Schmalenberger and Michael Klamm from the Stuttgarter Jugendhaus e.V..<\/p>\n

The result is an authentic place that is used not only by young people but also by citizens for different purposes, so that from baptisms to 80th birthdays, family celebrations and other public festivities are celebrated here. \"The loving treatment of the house shows that a relationship between house and people is possible, no one leaves this house untouched and almost no one can grasp it without grasping it with their hands.\"<\/p>\n

The building costs were in the end 400.000 Euro + own contributions<\/p>\n
