Gesamtorganismus f\u00fcr ca. 180 Bewohner realisiert. Die konsequente \u00f6kologische Ausrichtung des Geb\u00e4udekonzepts sorgt f\u00fcr einen niedrigen \u00f6kologischen Fu\u00dfabdruck \u00fcber den gesamten Lebenszyklus: Massivholzbauweise (Brettstapel), Solarstromanlagen an Fassade und auf dem Dach, Wasser- und Biomassekreislaufsysteme mit Grauwasserrecycling und Terra-Preta-Produktion, intensive Fassadenbegr\u00fcnung und das Gew\u00e4chshaus zum Gem\u00fcseanbau auf dem Dach. Der Entwurf wurde im we-house Realisierungswettbewerb Baakenhafen mit dem ersten Preis ausgezeichnet. Das Projekt in Herne ist allerdings in dieser Form das Spektakul\u00e4rste seiner Art.<br \/>\nDas in Partnerschaft vom deutschen Architekturb\u00fcro HHS Planer &amp; Architekten AG und vom franz\u00f6sischen Architekturb\u00fcro Jourda &amp; Perraudin (Francoise Helene Jourda und Gilles Perraudin) geplante Geb\u00e4ude ist von einer gl\u00e4sernen Klimah\u00fclle umschlossen, die ein mediterranes Klima, \u00e4hnlich dem in Nizza, erzeugt. Dieses ist durchschnittlich 5 \u00b0C w\u00e4rmer als die Au\u00dfentemperatur. Wasserspiele, Erdkan\u00e4le und gro\u00dfe Tore verhindern im Sommer ein \u00dcberhitzen. Die Solaranlage im Dach, ist die damals gr\u00f6\u00dfte geb\u00e4udeintegrierte Anlage ihrer Art gewesen. Die St\u00fctzen im Inneren bestehen aus 56 Fichtenst\u00e4mmen.
