Building exhibitions are a recognised and established instrument of urban development and urban planning. All projects contained in the sdg21.web database are listed under www.expo.siedlungen.eu<\/a> listed. Furthermore, you will find below a list of the building exhibitions in Europe known to me (New above). 2017-2027<\/td>\nIBA 2027 Stuttgart City Region<\/em><\/td>\n100 years after the Wei\u00dfenhofsiedlung was built, the International Building Exhibition (IBA) 2027 StadtRegion Stuttgart is to set internationally visible signs for building, living and working in the age of digitalisation, globalisation and climate change.

The focus is therefore on the Elbe islands with the districts of Hamburg-Veddel and Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg between Norderelbe and S\u00fcderelbe with the final point south of the Elbe in the Harburg inland port<\/i> in Hamburg-Harburg. At the same time, in conjunction with the IBA, the International Horticultural Show Hamburg 2013<\/i> (IGS) in Wilhelmsburg will take place. In 2010, the swimming pool built by Han Slawik was IBA Dock<\/i> is used as the headquarters of the IBA office and as a contact point for IBA visitors.

\nSaxony-Anhalt<\/em><\/td>\n		With the International Building Exhibition Urban Redevelopment Saxony-Anhalt 2010<\/i> (2003-2010), the state government of Saxony-Anhalt, in cooperation with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and the state development company SALEG, is attempting, under the guiding theme of \"New Perspectives for Cities in Transition\", to permanently implement an efficient and affordable infrastructure in a total of 19 cities in Saxony-Anhalt whose problems are often high unemployment, people moving away and suburbanisation. The IBA Urban Redevelopment 2010 is particularly concerned with the phenomenon of shrinking cities.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The entire region of heavy industry between Duisburg and Dortmund, with many wastelands often contaminated with toxic substances, was transformed into a modern residential, cultural and recreational landscape with ecological aspirations.

1929<\/td>\nWerkbundsiedlung Dammerstock Karlsruhe<\/i><\/td>\n228 apartments the exhibition \"Dammerstock housing estate, the utility apartment\". On display are 30 modern, functionally designed and furnished small apartments.

1927<\/td>\nWeissenhofsiedlung Stuttgart<\/i><\/td>\n33 cubic flat-roofed houses were built, as a Werkbund exhibition on the theme of \"The Dwelling\".
\nThe exhibition director was Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who invited the then 17 \"most characteristic representatives of the modern movement\" from five countries to build in Stuttgart. Among them were the Dutchman Mart Stam, the Dessau Bauhaus director Walter Gropius, experienced settlement architects such as the Rotterdam city architect J.J.P. Oud, representatives of organic building such as Hans Scharoun and old masters of modern architecture such as Peter Behrens.

\nin Leipzig<\/td>\n		Of the extensive exhibition buildings, only a hall built to a design by Wilhelm Kreis has survived on the exhibition grounds, which is known today as the People's Palace, as well as the residential buildings erected as reference objects by nine architects in the neighbouring garden suburb of Marienbrunn.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nAddress: Markt, 01109 Hellerau<\/td>\n		Shortly after the creation of the first garden city in England, the first German estate also celebrated its founding in Dresden over 100 years ago. The Hellerau estate can be traced back to the initiative of furniture manufacturer Karl Schmidt, whose name is still associated with the Deutsche Werkst\u00e4tten Hellerau today. All in all, the garden city of the architect Richard Riemerschmid is a modern piece of urban history despite its romanticizing approach. In addition to Riemerschmid, Heinrich Tessenow, Hermann Muthesius and Kurt Frick, as well as Theodor Fischer, were among the renowned architects who designed entire streets or at least rows of houses in Hellerau. During the time of its construction, Hellerau, like only the garden city of Margarethenh\u00f6he in Essen, was exempt from all building regulations by government decree.

\nDarmstadt<\/em><\/td>\n		The first International Building Exhibition took place in Darmstadt in 1901. It was initiated by Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. It is considered a milestone of German Art Nouveau.
