Two structures in timber construction with highly insulated building envelopes together with two annexes form a striking, extremely energy-efficient block around a lively courtyard in a simple, clear architectural language, from which all apartments and annexes can be reached barrier-free.
In a study of new residential construction in the Hanseatic city, the Institute for Research and Consulting for Housing, Real Estate and the Environment (F+B) comes to the conclusion that energy requirements such as overall energy efficiency or energy efficiency in Hamburg do not make building more expensive.
The authors of the study examined the key cost factors, focusing on building-specific parameters such as project size and compactness on the one hand and building efficiency parameters on the other.
It cannot be determined that construction costs decrease with increasing project size. Although they are lowest on average for projects with more than 3,500 square metres of living space, they are highest for medium-sized projects. The median, i.e. the central value, was taken into account. The study also found that costs vary most for small projects. And there are no cost advantages in building "blocks", i.e. buildings that are as compact as possible.
The new report to the CLUB OF ROME was presented to the public at a press conference in Berlin on 13 September. In addition to the authors, Federal Minister Dr Gerd Müller also spoke.

In the construction of three new apartment buildings in Wieblinger Weg, Stadtwerke Heidelberg Umwelt GmbH implemented an innovative overall energy concept for Baugenossenschaft Neu Heidelberg eG. PV systems with a total output of 30 kWp and a module area of 200 square metres were installed on the roofs of the new buildings. The tenants are supplied with electricity from a PV system and battery storage. The remaining electricity is supplied in the form of certified green electricity from the public grid. Bonn/Düsseldorf. The fast, affordable and complete energy transition towards 100 percent renewable energy needs thought leaders and pioneers who inspire others. With the annual awarding of the German Solar Prize, EUROSOLAR puts these actors in the public eye and offers new impulses for a decentralised, citizen-oriented and regenerative conversion of the energy system.
EUROSOLAR e.V. and the EnergyAgency.NRW will jointly present the winners of the German Solar Prize 2017 on Saturday, 14 October 2017, at VillaMedia in Wuppertal.
In the run-up to the award ceremony, EUROSOLAR, in cooperation with the Hermann Scheer Foundation is organising a symposium to tie in with Hermann Scheer's visionary work "Der Energethische Imperativ" (The Energy Ethical Imperative). Together with the audience, the speakers will discuss how the rapid path to a renewable energy age can be implemented.
The award ceremony of the German Solar Prize begins with greetings from Lothar Schneider, Managing Director of EnergyAgency.NRW, Bettina Brücher, Mayor of the City of Wuppertal and Jörg HeynkesManaging Director of VillaMedia GmbH. Give an introduction Prof. Dr Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Stephan GrügerMdL and Vice-President of EUROSOLAR e.V. Afterwards, the award winners will be honoured. Dr Axel BergChairman of EUROSOLAR Germany, the highlight of the event.
This will be followed by a get-together with snacks.

Stuttgart. The Baden-Württemberg Association of Cities is in favour of a CO 2 -pricing. At the most recent board meeting, the committee spoke unanimously in favour and called on the state government to develop a concept together with the municipalities.
"Cities and municipalities have been working hard on the topic of climate protection in recent years - and yet we are finding that it has not been enough in terms of results ", said the President of the Association of Cities and Towns, Dr Peter Kurz, Lord Mayor of Mannheim, citing examples: "Energy saving, renewable energies, energy refurbishment and environmentally friendly mobility have long been on the energy policy agenda of cities," Kurz said, "and there are several networks on climate impact adaptation at both European and international level in which many cities and municipalities in Baden-Württemberg are also involved, such as the EU Covenant of Mayors."
"Proven instruments of municipal climate protection policy are independent and ambitious climate protection concepts in our larger member municipalities and the proven instruments of the European Energy Award," added Gudrun Heute-Bluhm, executive board member of the Association of Cities. The heating plans that will be required in future by the state for the larger municipalities are also available in four places and offer great potential for climate protection with municipal funds.
In order to reduce CO2 -emissions, other incentives are needed than those currently in place, according to the Executive Committee of the Association of German Cities. Following on from the resolution of the German Association of Cities, the board therefore advocates a CO2 This would allow costs to be shifted in favour of climate-friendly energy sources. In any case, the desired restructuring of the state tax and levy system must be socially balanced. "Climate-damaging behaviour must have a price, so we should also examine with the state how we can implement this in the municipal levy system. This is in the interest of the municipalities, which want to actively participate in the achievement of national and international climate protection goals," says the board.
"No one can achieve climate protection alone - neither the federal government, nor the state, nor the municipalities. We can only do it hand in hand, which is why the climate targets can only be achieved if the federal and state governments live up to their responsibility by creating suitable framework conditions and taking action themselves," stressed Mayor Kurz. The state government should therefore come to an agreement with the municipalities on a concept that takes into account the municipal options for action. Climate protection-relevant support programmes should be examined for their effect and adapted if necessary.
President Kurz: "We see climate protection as the challenge of the future and it is a matter for the bosses in our cities - 'mayors for future', so to speak!"
