Community living as the focus of ARL news

More and more people are answering the question "How do we want to live?" with "Together instead of alone." Community living has become very popular in recent years, both among young and older people. The forms of new residential, house and housing communities are diverse: from self-sufficient eco-villages and multi-generational housing projects to so-called "beguine projects" for women.

The ARL - Academy for Spatial Research and Planning took up this topic in the 1/2016 issue of "ARL News" under the title "Housing projects - from niche to trend?". Micha Fedrowitz contributed an article on communal living in Germany.

100 municipalities in the "Club of Agenda 2030 municipalities

21 February 2019. the municipality of Lamspringe in Lower Saxony is the 100th drawing municipality.

Lamspringe is one of twelve model municipalities that want to develop local sustainability strategies by the end of 2019 as part of the project "Globally Sustainable Municipality in Lower Saxony". By signing the model resolution "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Shaping Sustainability at the Municipal Level" of the German Association of Cities and Towns and the German section of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, Lamspringe has now already sent a clear signal.

Other municipalities can also take responsibility for achieving the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and become active in development policy.

Purchase premium in Munich now also for private eCargobikes

The state capital of Munich will also pay up to 2,000 euros in purchase premiums for privately used eCargobikes from January 2017.

On 1 April 2016, the Munich-based Electromobility funding guideline into force. It introduced purchase premiums for commercial e-vehicles from pedelecs to e-cars. Since then, there has been a subsidy of 25 percent of the purchase price up to a maximum of 1000 euros for commercially used eCargobikes. In the first five months 86 applications approved. In addition, there is a 1000 euro scrapping premium if a car with an internal combustion engine is demonstrably permanently withdrawn from circulation.

The funding programme runs until 31 December 2020.
