28239 Bremen: the 206 kWpeak solar power system was one of the largest PV systems integrated into the roofs of the 80 residential buildings in Europe when it was commissioned. Apart from the rainwater pond and infiltration, the terraced housing development is otherwise quite conventional. Completion: 1995

Form of ownership |
The houses are owned by the residents, but not the photovoltaic systems installed on them (here: in particular the modules placed on the roof). The local energy supply company finances, operates and maintains the PV system. In return, it has the contractually guaranteed right to use the house roofs for 30 years. The property boundary runs below the level of the modules; for this purpose, a further - structurally unnecessary - weatherproof roof skin made of heat-resistant bitumen was implemented.

Energy | Roof-integrated solar power systems In 2008, the solar modules were replaced due to a construction error in the modules. www.photovoltaik.eu/fachwissen-technik/pionierprojekt-repowered |
