Completion Construction began in the summer of 1981, the first residents moved in in 1982, and the building was completed in 1983.
Location The Bauhäusle is located on the campus in the midst of greenery.

Sustainability measures
Ecology Wood and recycled building materials
Economics The rent is staggered, starting at 218 € per month and increases every year by 4 €.
Socio-culture In addition to simple, individual furnishings, there are communal kitchens and showers. Maintenance and gardening is done by the residents themselves.
Special features The Bauhäusle was designed and built by the students under the guidance of the two professors Peter Hübner and Prof. Peter Sulzer and is the model for several other self-build student dormitories such as the ESA in Kaiserslautern, which Clay building project in Kassel or also the Mound houses in Stuttgart Hohenheim have become.
