D - 70191 Stuttgart: the city of Stuttgart assumes 7,500 apartments (for 11,000 inhabitants) and 4,000 jobs (as of 2019) on 85 ha. There are around 5,600 apartments on the development site itself. A further 1,900 residential units will find space on adjacent sites, linking the new quarter with the existing Nordbahnhofviertel. Start: 2026 at the earliest; completion: ~2032
Planning status (9/2020)
The vision for the quarter is based on the urban development concept of the asp Architekten GmbH and Koeber Landschaftsarchitektur GmbH consortium. Their design was the winner of the "Rosenstein International Urban Design Competition" in summer 2019. Currently, the design is being transformed into a framework plan. It will then be submitted to the municipal council for a decision.
