Ecology Passive house. Energy saving concept. Biogas CHP. Solar power system. Achieved energy index of only 12.9 kWh per square meter and year (projected 13.6 kWh/m2a).Alternative sanitation concept, zero wastewater house with vacuum toilets and reed sewage treatment plant, as well as rainwater infiltration. Unfortunately, the biogas plant is not in operation.
Economics The additional costs of the house compared to an ordinary low-energy house amount to 7% (without innovative drainage system). The project was funded by the "Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt" (DBU).
Socio-cultural One of the first building groups to be established on the Vauban site.
Involvement of residents in the interior design of the apartments.
